We all feel sad now and again but if the feelings of sadness or grief don’t seem to end then we might be facing depression. About 5% of the worldwide population is facing depression at any one time. In the UK, between 8% and 12% of people experience depression in any year (Source: mentalhealth.org) Depression is generally characterised by a constant feeling of sadness, emptiness or pessimism. Sufferers often experience tiredness with the inability to sleep, lack of energy, difficulty concentrating or making decisions, changes in appetite, loss of interest in activities or hobbies, and many more.
